Brother partners with Rally New Zealand
Rally New Zealand has confirmed that the leader in home and business IT peripherals Brother International (NZ) Limited is the naming rights sponsor for the 2012 Rally New Zealand, a round of the WRC, and the International Rally of Whangarei, a round of the Asia Pacific Rally Championship. It is a significant commitment from Brother as the deal would involve a seven-figure sum if Brother exercises its options for a further two years.
McRae & Proton return to Whangarei to defend APRC title

New March date for International Rally of Whangarei in 2012
The International Rally of Whangarei will open both the national and Asia Pacific rally seasons in 2012 with the event scheduled to run from 30 March to 1 April.
2012 Asia Pacific Rally Championship dates
The calendar for the 2012 FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship has been confirmed with the six-event championship starting in New Zealand at the International Rally of Whangarei over the weekend of 31 March - 1 April.
International Rally of Whangarei victory for Atkinson
Australian Chris Atkinson is the first international driver to win the International Rally of Whangarei, taking victory in the two-day event by 12.4 seconds from Kiwi star Hayden Paddon. Masterton’s Richard Mason finished third overall.

Australian driver Chris Atkinson leads the International Rally of Whangarei by just 6.2 seconds from Kiwi star Hayden Paddon with Atkinson’s Proton team-mate Alister McRae in third, 32.8 seconds adrift of the Subaru-driving Paddon.
