Vertex Oil International Rally of Whangarei Coming to Dargaville and Ruawai – 8 November 2025

Whangarei, New Zealand – [16/10/2025] – Motorsport excitement is set to ignite Northland as the Vertex Oil International Rally of Whangarei roars into Dargaville and Ruawai on Saturday, 8 November 2025, as part of the Brian Green Property Group New Zealand Rally Championship (NZRC).

The internationally recognised rally event will bring top-tier drivers and teams from across New Zealand — and entrants from around the world — to compete on some of the most challenging and scenic gravel roads in the country. The inclusion of the roads around Dargaville and Ruawai in the 2025 route promises a thrilling spectacle for local fans and visitors alike.

Motorsport Meets Community

Rally cars will speed through closed stages in Kaipara’s rural heart, giving spectators the chance to witness world-class rallying right on their doorstep. Local communities are expected to benefit from a surge in visitors, hospitality sales, and media exposure for the day

A Key Stop in the NZRC Calendar

The Vertex Oil International Rally of Whangarei is a cornerstone of the NZRC as the final round in 2025. The NZRC has long been recognised as one of the most competitive rally championships in the Southern Hemisphere. The 2025 edition will mark another milestone in the event’s history, combining international participation, regional pride, and grassroots enthusiasm.

Community Involvement and Information

The event runs on volunteers. And each year we are on the hunt for local sports or community groups to assist with the event via stage marshalling. We offer a group a donation should they take up an entire stage. So local volunteers, service clubs, and schools are being encouraged to take part in event operations, fundraising, and hospitality efforts by contacting the event using our event portal: https://volunteers.rallynewzealand.com/
